J comes out of southern Connecticut. After getting sick of the saxophone somewhere in 1990 he decided he would teach himself guitar. He started a metal/hard core band when he was in middle school by the name of Dementia (later to find out that there are about a million bands by that name) whom he stayed with for about 7 years. Over the course of high school he had also played in a pop rock band called Kosmo Vinyl with his friend Robb of Psychotic Reaction. After high school and Dementia's final break up he tried his hand as the vocalist of a band called Cykoside. J left for college and met Jeff, after trying and failing to start a band with Jeff he was pretty disheartened. A semester later after dinner one night at the dorms he met Micheal and they decided to try and form a band when they realized that they are schooled in the same style of guitar. Having already known Jeff, J confronted him and asked him if he wanted to give it another shot. Now 2 years and a thousand name changes later we have The Suffering. Long live true metal.
